Acronis 2010 horrors

Thread needs solution

Due to something seemingly triggered by Windows Update, my computer was no longer finishing booting up and, to cut a very long story short, I re-installed from my Acronis backup from 2 months ago to be sure of getting rid of the problem. I re-installed the C and E partitions (E is programs) to preserve my data partition (F). C installed OK, but E was installed on both the E and F partitions, wiping my data!. After a while, it also became obvious that Acronis had switched the E and F drive labelling, so I had C, F, E. Having put this right with Partitionmagic, I then tried to install the real F partition backup, but kept getting the message Acronis had to reboot, then it failed to do so each time. Manual reboot at this time failed to run Acronis at all. Have now recovered my data by installing it from the saem backup on to another drive than simply copying it, but what a performance!
