work on one. It has been a random problem. But now, I just got one to clone the hard drive. The other two machines bomb out constantly. I have gone into bios and enabled legacy support, and placed the boot sequence with first one as USB CD ROM in both areas. I get to the Acronis software to load, go to clone disk, select the source and target drives and set the size "as-is". It goes through the first 4 tasks then goes into 5th and about 10-20 seconds the error message comes. I have tried the source drive in both the IDE and the USB locations. Also, when I reboot the system -- the machine boots to windows 8.1 and does not boot the usb cd-rom drive with the acronis disk loaded. I have to go back into bios set-up, then save and it boots again into the acronis software. In the past I could move the usb connections into different usb ports and it might start to load the acronis software. Other times it says the clone can't run since I only have one disk drive -- even though the USB drive is up and running. Also, when I enable legacy system support in the bios -- the one machine that cloned -- asks for a 4 digit code that is generated on the screen to make sure you want to enable the legacy support -- when I am done cloning and want to return back to normal state I disable legacy support and then move the boot from USB CD rom back down to second, exit and then I think it asks me to type another 4 digit code to confirm the change. The one machine that did clone did this process -- the other 2 machines did not ask for a code when the legacy option was enabled and exited to reboot the system.
