Acronis DriveSweeper

Thread needs solution

Attempted to clean a drive before removing from production and received this message. Located on a ST375033 SCSI Interface, "Faild to read from the sector 456.723.002 of the hard disk 4"... the drive works and it kind of seems odd that it's failing now, it's just being moved to a different dept.

Failed to mention that it continues to fail after this point...not sure how many times it failed to read data, selected 'rety' about 5 times all on different sectors, but selected Ignore all and waited an hour and hadn't progressed since.

Sounds like a bad drive but. . . Since you're cleaning, have you tried a reformat and see if the drive checks out okay after that. I know it doesn't literally rewrite every byte (unless you do a low level format) but it will let you know if the hardware actually went bad or not.

Sure does. I'm able to mount it...format it... trying dban this time around per a colleague
