Acronis failed silently about a month ago

Thread needs solution

I installed Acronis 2015 a couple of months ago and set it to do a daily backup to my dropbox.

All was fine until about a month ago and the backups just stopped. I went to open Acronis and it crashes hard (Windows prompts to close, debug, or search for solution).

I tried to uninstall and re-install, but it crashes similarly during those operations.

Finally, I went to get support but see they want $20 to fix their broken software.

Thank goodness I checked on this prior to actually needing to recover something.

So if anyone has any ideas or hints, that would be great. Otherwise I'm going to give up on this expensive, buggy product.
