Acronis Home 2010 does not complete back up, Win 7 64 bity

Thread needs solution

I've got a confusing problem with Acronis 2010 Home backup.
I recently upgraded my OS to Win 7 64 bit. The crux of the problem is that I go through the back up process without an apparent problem, except when the back up ends, no back files are permanently written to the back up hard drive. Her's some other observations. How can I back up my system?
1. Acronis worked on this computer and its components when I had VISTA 32 bit as the OS
2. When I upgraded to Win 7 32 bit, I did a fresh install and reloaded Acronis. (within last 3 months), I assume it went for newest version. THe auto update choice was supposed to be active.
3. I tried to back up 2 physical drives: C drive with programs on it, and a second physical HD with my data and documents. I've done a similar operation on 32 bit systems without a problem.
4. I've tried a couple of drives. The first (formerly effective) is a seagate 500 gig external drive. When I upgraded, I added a larger data disk and brought some data from another machine. I thought after back up failed, that the back up drive might lack sufficient capacity. So I put a 1 TB drive into the machine and used it as the back up drive. if I copied all the data to it, it would have sufficient capacity.
5. During Backup, Acronis works like I expected it to work based or prior experience. It gives no error messages. It has even noted that back ups were completed successfully. Except there's not back up file(s) on the back up drive.
6. Back up takes about 4 hr. During the process, I can check space utilization on the hard drives. In both cases, during back up, Windows explorer showed increasing amounts of space utilization as backup occurred. When the back up process was over, however, no .tib file was written and retained on the back up HD.
7. No error messages were left on the acronis screen.

Why is this happening only on this win 7 64 bit system? Can I change a setting to make the back up work? Should I back only 1 physical drive per back up session?

Thanks

Are you using non-stop backup or is it a "regular" disk/partition or file backup? Non-stop backup files are hidden. Disk/partition/file backup files are not.
When the back up runs, do you see the actual TIB growing in the destination folder?
At the end of the backup, is ATI showing you the backup size?
