Acronis Home ver 10/11 linux boot CD file

Thread needs solution

I upgraded my orginal ver 10 to ver 11 some time ago and had problems backing up to my new sata drive PC, when the program would reboot but find 'no config file', screwing my MBR.
Support gave me a download for a linux boot CD which does offer the basic program functions, but does not have USB drive support. This is where I keep all my backups so is useless.
Is there a new linux file with USB support ?
Sorry if this is covered elsewhere. CJ

There may be a newer ISO available. Both versions 10 and 11 are older so Acronis may not be updating the boot ISO very much anymore. However, it's still worth checking. Try Live Chat Support or sending a PM to an Acronis Moderator. Explain the situation and request a link to the latest ISO file.

Alternate options include:

  • Creating a BartPE, VistaPE, or WinPE-based CD that includes TI and any necessary drivers.
  • Trying the trial version of TI 2010.

Thanks.
I am in despair at the terrible state of the backup software industry.
I have just purchased Paragon HD suite 2009, thinking it can't be any worse than Acronis for support. I would advise anyone to save their money.. it took 50 minutes to clone a drive which was then found not to boot.
Acronis took 2 minutes and it worked perfectly.. but all my longterm acronis backups have proved to be corrupt as I try and rebuild my system. The backups are mostly on a 500mb USB drive .. which my boot cd can't locate.
Looking thru this forum shows how many people are having all kinds of problems.
Bring back Ghost.
