Acronis Loader: No Configuration File Present

Thread needs solution

When booting from a rescue CD, I see the following:

No Emulation System Type - 00
Starting Acronis Loader
Acronis Loader: No Configuration File Present
Press Enter to reboot

I understand that there may be an alternate iso file that will correct this problem. I am using TI Workstation with Universal Restore version 9.1. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Steven,

Thank you for using Acronis Products

First of all please make sure that you are using the latest build of the program. Check it in Help -> About. You can always download the latest build of the program from your account under Registered Products. Recreate Acronis bootable disc and see if the issue persists.

If the issue persists download ISO image from your account under Registered Products and create Acronis bootable disc using third-party software. ISO image is based on different loader which has more embedded drivers, it will certainly solve the issue you experience.

Let us know if the issue persists.

Yes I am using the latest build that is available for me to download of TI Workstation w/Universal Restore 9.1 (build 3887) and the problem is persisting. There is no ISO image available for download in my account under Registered Products or any other section of my account that I could find. If you have a link that you can make available to me that would be terrific. Thanks.

Hello? I am still hoping for a response on this issue. I like the Acronis product and would like to continue to use it and if there is an alternate ISO for TI Workstation w/Universal Restore 9.1 to fix this booting error I would appreciate some help in attaining it since it is not available for download on my account. If there is no possible way for me to get this alternate ISO I would appreciate an explanation rather than being left out in the cold.

I also submitted an email support request but have been ignored there as well.

Fehlermeldung:

No Emulation System Type - 00
Starting Acronis Loader ...
Acronis Loader: No configuration file present
Press to reboot

MfG

Hello all,

I understand the questions and will do everything possible from my side to solve the issue.

Steven I have sent you a private message with the link to ISO image of Acronis True Image 9.1 Workstation with the Universal Restore bootable disc based on different loader. This ISO image is based on ISOLinux loader which has better hardware support and will certainly solve the issue you experience.

Rainer and Frank please check your PM messages I have sent you the same ISOLinux images of Acronis True Image 11 Home.

You can find more information on how to burn an ISO image to a CD at:

Hallo an alle,

ich habe das gleiche Problem! :-(

Martin!

Hello Dmitry,

same problem as Martin, Steve, Rainer... with the TI 11 which I purchased in 2008 and upgraded to Built 11.0.8105 via download.
The recovery CD generated on the VISTA machine works fine on our old XP- PC but NOT on the (newer )VISTA MACHINE

all I get is: "No configuration file present" ect

Please send me an e-mail to :udbergfried@web.de
with detailed instructions how to fix the problem and the link , that I can use to download the files necessary

Thank you for your help

Vladimir - It's interesting that your company has the time and money to assign you full-time to respond to ALL the numerous negative comments about Acronis. I have no doubt as to your sincerity or that of your technical staff in India. However, your company simply does NOT follow up and support your products as you claim. I find your numerous posts to the negative comments on Amazon as offensive as I'd prefer that you company spend its money fixing their issues rather than trying to convince us that you're a quality company that cares. Acronis is NOT a quality company as demonstrated by its behaviors with numerous customers over time. I've had to exculate my dissatisfaction to the US Better Business Bureau in an attempt to get Acronis to fix the numerous issues they have with Windows 7. Your promises in my case have provided NO resolution despite your excellent rethortic.

hi Dmitry,

thank you for sending me the link to the ISO image file
I was finally able to generate a working Rescue CD on our old XP PC using NERO 6 Burning Software
The first CD generated on our new VISTA PC using NERO 8 did not run . Error message: "Missing operating system" No idea why .
For someone like me, who is just using a computer as a tool and not intending to spent hours to keep it running it was a most frustrating experience.
But at least I am done now Thank you again for your help.

the help

Hallo an alle!

I have the same problem with TI 11 when booting it on my new notebook: "Acronis Loader: no configuration file present". I already reported this in another thread (http://forum.acronis.com/forum/8266) but it seems it was overlooked.

Thanks,
Christian

Hello Christian,

I will do everything possible in order to resolve the issue you experience.

The source of the issue is lack of drivers under Acronis bootable disc. I sent you a special ISO image of Acronis bootable disc based on ISOLinux loader via PM, this ISO has better hardware support than usual one and it will certainly solve the issue you experience.

You can find more information on how to burn an ISO image to a CD at:

http://iso.snoekonline.com/iso.htm

http://www.petri.co.il/how_to_write_iso_files_to_cd.htm

I may also recommend you to download free trial version of Acronis True Image Home 2010 and test it. If the issue is not reproduced you can purchase an upgrade just for $29.99 using our online store.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you.

Hallo Martin,

I have Acronis Ture Image 2010 Home. I installed the latest build (downloaded frew days ago fom account page).

I installed it under Windows 7.

I have the same problem.

Any help how to fix the issue.

bootrec /fixmbr and bootrec /fixboot from previous posts didn't help.

Hello Andreas,

Let me help you.

Could you please clarify: at what moment exactly do you have that error message "No Configuration File Present"?

If you're having this message when trying to boot from the created CD, this means that there was something wrong during its creation and you need to make a new bootable media.

I may recommend you to download an ISO image from your account, that we've updated recently and create a new Acronis Bootable Media.

  1. Log in to your account;
  2. Once logged in, click My Products & Downloads:

  3. Scroll down to the registered product and click Bootable Media:

  4. Click Download:

  5. Acronis Bootable Media will be downloaded as an ISO file. See Burning an ISO Image.

Please reply to this thread if you need any further assistance.

Thank you.

Dear Acronis,

No I have no CD in the PC.
When I Installed True Image I was sent to the Updates page and downloaded all the updates and used those. The newsest True Image 2010 is installed.

When Booting my PC now with Windows 7 installed (from Harddisk) I get:

Starting Acronis Loader
Acronis Loader: No Configuration File Present
Press Enter to reboot

I can't start my PC anymore.

Please help on this issue.

Hello Andreas,

Thank you for the clarification, now I understand the reason of the issue.

Most likely, Acronis Startup Recovery Manager was activated somehow and now it doesn;t work correctly. To resolve the issue, you need to fix MBR (Master Boot Record). Please do the following:

Insert your Windows 7 DVD in to a DVD drive and restart your PC to boot from this device (you may be prompted to "press any key" to boot from a CD/DVD drive). If you have a recovery partition instead of the installation CD, choose this during the advanced BIOS options stage (on Dell PCs this often accessed by CTRL+F11).

After a little wait for loading, you will be presented with the Windows 7 installation screen. Select your language and keyboard input method and then click OK to continue.

Then select Repair your computer from the bottom right hand corner (not the install now button). Clicking this will search for installed versions of Windows 7 on your computer which you can then attempt to repair.

Once the scanning has finished, you will be prompted to select your Windows 7 install drive. Usually there is only 1 option. Click this and then the Next button.

A list of recovery options will then appear, from which you should click Startup Repair. Windows 7 will then scan your computer for any potential problems. If any problems are found, you will be prompted to select the appropriate course of action. Please select an option to repair your boot configuration, reboot and the issue shouldn't occur anymore.

Please reply to this thread if you need any further help.

Thank you.

Hello Ilya,

It was my fault I acidently, in panic, used the 32Bit Windows 7 DVD to do the fixmbr yesterday.

Now with the 64bit Windows 7 DVD the fixmbr worked and Windows 7 is back running now.

Thnx for the help.

Greetings
Andreas

Hi Dmitry

I made a recovery with Acronis True Image Home 2010. After reeboting, I get this message:

(german)
Acronis Loader: Keine Konfigurationsdatei gefunden.
Zum Neustart drücken...
(/german)

I'm using a german Version and a I didn't know the English error message.

Thanks for your help!

Greetings

Hendrik Malgo

Hello Acronis staff members,

I use Acronis True Image 11 Home (Build 8.105) in the german version.

When I boot from Rescue-CD on a my PC (Windows Vista), I get the message:

Boot from AHCI CD-ROM
1. No Emulation System Type- 00
Acronis Loader: No Configuration File present

After reading and even searching the forum:
I can't find a new ISO-Image in my account to solve the problem.

Please could you provide me with a new german version of the boot image ISO-file of Acronis True Image 11 Home or/and an appropriate Linux-based version.

THX in advance
glomie

Hello Hendrik and glomie,

Thank you for your posts and I will definitely help you.

Hendrik, would it be possible for you to download the latest version (7046) of the bootable media and check if this issue occurs?

glomie,

I have followed-up with a private message with the ISOLINUX version.

If you need additional help please let me know.

Thank you.

Hallo Acronis staff members,
I have the same problem as Andreas Vogelbacher. But i have two Operation Systems (2 x Win7 Pro) separator in two partitions.
Please, could you also send me the special ISO image of Acronis bootable disc based on ISOLinux loader?

Thanks,

M.Ingwers

Hello M.Ingwers,

Thank you for your post and welcome to our forum. I will definitely assist you with this issue.

I was not able to find any registered Acronis programs in your Acronis web-account, I would really appreciate if you could register the serial number or send it to me via a private message and I will get back to you with the bootable media.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

today I've downloaded the Disk Director 11 advanced workstation trial and have the same problem with the bootable media. In German the error message when booting from USB-Stick is: "Acronis Loader keine Konfigurationsdatei gefunden". In english
"Acronis Loader no configuration file present".
There's no recover from that error. I've tried several (new) USB Sticks, but no chance to get the stick working.
Now I've registered the trial to download a Boot Image for CD, but it seems that registration failed. After providing the serial number, a message is shown that the registration was successfull. But I still have no registered products displayed and therefore cannot download any Boot Image.

This is my first contact with acronis products, an it looks a bit crazy that the first steps in such a sensitive process like backup just fail!
It's not an invitation to buy and use the product after the trial phase.

Hello Marcus,

Welcome to our forum and thank you for your message. I will definitely help you.

Unfortunately, downloading the bootable media for a trial version is not possible. I will forward your comment to our Management team.

The issue with the error message "Acronis Loader no configuration file present" will require additional investigation. Instead of a USB stick have you tried creating a bootable CD/DVD?

I will also follow-up with a private message and provide you with a download link for the trial bootable media. Please check its limitations here.

If it fails, please contact our Support team with a detailed description of the problem. We offer technical support for the duration of the trial period.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

Anzeige:

Acronis Loader wird gestartet...
Acronis Loader: keine Konfiguratiosdatei gefunden.

Werner,

Relaunch the ATI installer, and choose repair install. Upon completion, create a new CD and try again.

Hello,

a few weeks ago I've done some investigation on this error. My last try was to install another file system on the boot media. I think I'd formatted the media with FAT32 file system when I had the error. As far as I remember the installation then worked when I used the FAT(12?) file system.
When I have some free time I will make some new tests.

bye

Marcus

Was ist mit "ATI installer" gemeint?

Ein Reparaturversuch mit der W7 (64bit) - CD war erfolglos.
Ein Ändern der aktiven Partition mit der Acronis Disk Director 11 Home - CD war erfolglos.

Wie bekomme ich den Acronis Loader weg?

Hi Marcus,

Sorry Werner, I misunderstood the post (my German is rusty).
I understand now that you cannot boot your computer at all, right?

If this is the case, you have to use the Windows W7 DVD, choose install, repair, command prompt.
Then use the bootrec tool to create a new MBR and repair the BCD if necessary.

Alternatively, you could boot on the Acronis recovery CD and restore just your MBR from a previous backup.

Does Acronis True Image 9.1 correctly recognize the MBR of a RAID configuration?

I get: "Acronis loader: no configuration file present"

I suspect it has something to do with the fact that I am running RAID.

Try to boot on the recovery CD. It looks like Acronis Startup Recovery Manager has not been properly setup, or you may have a driver issue.

Hey there,

I've the same problem as the other guys here. I'm using Acronis True Image Home 2011 (latest build, just downloaded yesterday from the member account). I'm going to build a rescue media and I need a USB Stick as ressource. I format the USB Stick with FAT, and generate a bootable rescue media by using the accronis wizzard. All seems to go fine... But when I try to boot from the stick, i'm getting the message: "Acronis Loader: No Configuration File Present".

I've also build a stick with the old "Acronis TrueImage Home 11" and this stick is working perfectly. But sadly with a Acronis 11 Loader I can't recover backups made with a later version... So I need a working Acronis True Image 2011 Loader, since I don't have a CDROM attached to the PC I need to use a USB Stick...

I also tried to swap my HDD to IDE mode... no success aswell.

So what can I do now?

Hello HoTo!

Thank you for sharing your concerns with us, I'd like to help you with the problem.

Usually it happens when the bootable media is corrupted, so I'd suggest that you recreate the media following these instructions.

Should the issue remain, please gather Acronis Linux Report and send it to us directly. This data will help us to localize the issue and thus find and appropriate solution for it.

Let us know if there's anything else we can help you with, we'll be glad to!

Thank you!
