Acronis Online Backup Support Backing Up NAS Drives?

Thread needs solution

Does Acronis online backup support backing up NAS drives? From what I can tell, the answer is no.. That's unfortunate, since I have been looking for this for a while (all my pictures are stored on the NAS).

Anyway, sorry if this is a repeat question. Couldn't find the answer, because I kept finding that it is supported for Acronis Online Backup & Recovery 10, which I believe is a different software.

Are there any acronis products that support this that are affordable for non-businesses?

Thanks!

Tom

You are right - 'Home' version of online backup doesn't back up network folders, 'business' "Backup & Recovery Online" does. 'affordability; is the same - the subscription cost is the same $50/year, however 'business' version has only annual one, not monthly. Subscription-based Backup & Recovery Online that backs up only to online storage doesn't have initial cost - when you install it in 'backup to online storage only' mode it doesn't require serial number, you activate your subsctiption later.

That's great news! Thank you for the information... I'll be trying out the business version in that case. I have no issue paying annually, so this is exactly what I'm looking for!

I really liked this answer, thanks a lot! Unfortunately, I've already purchased ATI Home Online, but didn't realise that it didn't support networked drives so it's a bit of a waste of money seeing as all our data is on a NAS drive. I'm still within the 1 month free trial period, so I feel I should be entitled to a refund/product change to backup & Recovery Online instead.

In searching for that information, I found the FAQ page it was on is actually out of date and says "Can I backup external, mapped or networked drives with Acronis True Image Online? ... No, Acronis only backs up your internal hard drive. This is consistent with the other Acronis offering for consumers, Acronis True Image Home 2011."
Which is incorrect, because ATI Home *can* backup to/from networked drives (that's how we are doing it anyway...)

I really used to like Acronis because of it's reliability and being better than all the other backup programs I've used before, and all the extra features it had that none others had. But then the Home version doesn't support NAS drives, just seems wrong really. A lot of home users are moving to use NAS drives to store their data, our NAS is branded as a home device for storing/streaming video/pictures too. So I don't see why Acronis thinks NAS drives shouldn't be supported (when there is negligible price difference between the Home Online and B&R Online)...

Thanks this is helpful. I'll try and see if I can revert to a business edition - perhaps Acronis will swap my home edition for a business one as I'd only bought it in January this year.
