Acronis Recovery CD Can't Find My MyBook Live Storage Device When Recovering Drive Backup

Thread needs solution

I'm trying out Acronis True Image Home 2012 before I buy it. I created a whole computer backup (C drive) on an external 2 TB MyBookLive network (Ethernet connection) storage device. I created a bootable CD. I tried to restore my computer using the bootable CD. The Acronis recovery CD boots and I get into the Acronis True Image Home 2012 main page:

> I select "My Disks" under the "Recover" option
> A file called "My_partitions" shows up
> It is located in the path "\\MyBoolLive\Public\Toshiba Computer Backup using Acronis\My_partitions.tib" (which sounds correct to me)
>When I select the "Next" button, a message "Acronis True Image cannot detect volume 1 of "My_partitions" achive.
> Even though the path is correct, I tried to browse to see if the MuBookLive network storage device could be found. It cannot be found.

How do I get the boot program to locate the MyBookLive file?

You might try it first with the MyBook drive connected via USB. That would help you determine if perhaps the drive and ATI image are fine, but that there's an issue getting the network location to work.

I regularly backup to and restore from Western Digital external drives, but I've used only USB and not network connection.
