Acronis Recovery Disk not reading DVD drive
Hello guys, I purchased Acronis True Image 2013 and followed these steps to create a bootable disk backup:
http://kb.acronis.com/content/34873
It backups system drive fine but when booting recovery DVD, it launches recovery menu and it reads all hard disk partitions except DVD Drive.
I checked and recovery image is on disk but not sure why recovery menu does not read DVD drive.
I am using Windows 7 32 Bits Ultimate.
Thanks very much!

Are your images on DVD or a hard drive?
That is correct, same DVD drive, there is actually only one DVD drive unit.
The backup image is also included on the same DVD disk that Acronis made as a bootable disk.
Thanks for your answer.

Are you sure it doesn't give another or a different drive letter to the DVD drive?

That is correct, I tried clicking all drive letters and no luck, it simply does not read the DVD drive. I tried contacting support team but my support warranty has expired and I am not planning to pay extra for support for a product that I already paid and it is the first time I try to use it.
Not sure what else to try.
Thanks!

Since the True Image program loads into RAM memory when booted from the Recovery Media, after the main program opens up, try and manually eject the DVD, re-insert it, wait about 30 seconds, and then check to see it the DVD shows up in the browse for backups window.
I'm just guessing here, but worth trying.

Hello James, thanks for your suggestion but it did not work. I see that my DVD drive is set as a Secondary Slave, will try maybe to set it as the Primary Slave and see if that helps.

Tried plugging the DVD Drive to the Master IDE Slot on motherboard, no luck.... It is really incredible that such a basic feature does not work!

Hello Everyone,
Thank you for your posts and your help everyone.
Andrew, as this is a recovery issue we will not charge for it. Please collect this report from the bootable media and contact our Support team so that we can assist you with resolving this problem.
Most likely the issue is caused by lack of proper drivers for the CD-ROM device in the Linux based bootable media.
Please let me know if you have additional questions.
Thank you.
