Acronis TI 2014 Backup Mapped Network Drive to Cloud using Online Storage.

Thread needs solution

Acronis provided a free 5GB online storage.

Is it possible to Sync my Mapped Network Drive (NAS) to the Cloud using the online backup feature?

Or can i only sync local folders?

Thanks

Joel,

True Image doesn't like working with mapped drives, it prefers to work with UNC shares.

I haven't tried using Sync with a NAS, you can use Online Backup on your NAS but this isn't the same as using Sync.

The biggest problem with Sync is that it is always two way, that is what you change on one sync folder is automatically mirrored on the other. This means your data is not necessarily safe.

Hi,

Just curious. I got mapped drives from Letter M to S. Total of 7 drives. All this drives are mapped from Synology NAS to Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.
Can i use the Acronis 2014 True Image Premium to backup weekly from these mapped drive to External HDD or other hdd?

Thanks

The answer Mohamed is, possibly. True Image prefers UNC or IP addressing for network drives, mapped drives soemtimes work and sometimes don't. The problem is that mapped drives are only assigned to the system once the user has logged in, True Image needs top be able to access drives if the user hasn't logged on.

If you find the mapped drives don't work and you want to keep mapped drives, you could try changing the True Image log on from Acronis User to your user log on, but I've not tried this so don't know if that would solve the problem.

If you have more than one user on your PC, then obviously if this works, True Image would only work for your user instance.
