Acronis True Image 14: unable to open old backups
I've started up an older laptop I have that has not been run in a long time.
I was hoping to retrieve some photos and music files. I see I must have moved them off that machine as they are not in the regular filesystem. But I have an old backup on that machine; The *.tib files range from 70-03-19 To 09-07-20 the sizes run from 8 GB to 69 GB
I'm pretty sure everything I'm after will be in there or at least some part of it.
when I try to open the main folder of the backup I'm told the backup is corrupted.c the address acronis recorded is still good. It would be a shame to just have to trash it when I'm sure I want stuff there.... not bad enough, however, to spend over $100 I guess . So I'm hoping someone here will have some ideas about how to get to the files.
I do have a Win 10 VM running the the same version of aconis but I've been afraid to copy or move them and possibly make things worse. Maybe silly ... it seems copying would not pose a problem but I'd rather hear from someone with some experience first.
Can anyone give me some ideas about how to proceed.

The core question here is which version was used to create these files and is that the same version being used to open them (or a more recent / later version)? It call itself acronis True Imate 14, when I start it. It says its been activated.
I'm reasonably sure but no way to be certain... the machine has been off a good while, there is only one version of acronis on the host: Acronis True Image 14
I see from other posts there is apparently no way to tell what version made a backup. If that is true then I guess there is no way to tell for sure.... seems the tool itself would have some specific response if asked to open an archive of a different version of the tool. The response I get is that the backup is corrupt.
I include a screen grabe of the files of the archive in place:

Harry, I agree that it is most likely that the backup files were created by ATI 2014 if that is what was installed on the PC where they were made.
In terms of the files themselves, then there are some issues just looking at the sizes and file names.
I have never seen a disk backup that created a _full_b1_s1_v1.tib file of only 8MB, so that file is almost certainly corrupt or incomplete!
Of the subsequent _full_b1_s1_v1-? files, these were given the -2 & -3 suffix because Acronis found the 8MB v1 full file when it wasn't expected, then found the -2 file.
So of the three x _full_ files, only the _full_b1_s1_v1-3.tib is likely to be a usable file.
The first incremental file _inc_b1_s2_v1.tib should also be a usable file.
The next incremental file _s3_ looks to have suffered a similar issue to the earlier _full_ files with being given the -2, -3, -4 & -5 suffices.
The further _s4_ & _s5_ incremental files may also be usable but not sure what they are working from as the previous file chain.
My recommendation here would be to try working from the top of the list of files down and testing each file in turn by double-clicking on each in Explorer and see whether it opens and allows you to navigate within the contents or not?
If none of the _full_ files will allow such actions, then there is no chance of any of the _inc_ files doing so, as these files contain only the changed data since the previous _full_ file was created.
With luck and a following wind, you may find the files you want in one of the earlier files and be able to use copy & paste to copy them.
