Acronis True Image 2011 Slowing PC to Crawl - VERY SLOW

Thread needs solution

I have True Image 2011 and do regular backups. When I run my backups they seem to slow everything else running on my PC at the same time to a complete crawl. I have 8 Gigs of RAM and dual processor, with 4 virtual core. Its a new and powerful laptop, so it should be able to do other things while Acronis is running. If I do Virus Scans that last a long time, I am still able to run other programs on my PC at the same time. When Acronis is running, I look at the Windows Task Manager and it shows that the process called TrueImageHomeService.exe *32 is only using 5% or maybe less of the resources. So, its not like Acronis is using all the CPU. BUT, it still causes all my other programs to run very slow. I click on another program and it takes a minute or more to respond.

I have tried adjusting the priority of the Acronis task to both high and normal and it does not effect anything. Not sure if I should adjust the Priority in Windows Task Manager to be higher or lower? The Affinity in Task Manager shows that it can use all four virtual CPU's.

Its just very difficult to do any other work on the PC while Acronis is running.

Thanks for any help that you can provide.

If you can set the Affinity to only use one core does it help?
