Acronis True Image 2013 questions and errors

Thread needs solution

This might be a little lengthy, but here goes....

I work for the city I live in, specifically I'm working in the library in my city. We use Acronis True Image 2013 to clone the public computers. We also use a program called clean slate, so I'm not sure where the errors are coming from, but I'm pretty sure its coming down to these 2 programs. We are on Windows 10. So we get one computer set up the way we want it to be setup with no errors whatsoever. We get a patron account, a staff account, and an admin account. Basically the staff account and the admin account have passwords and the patron account does not. Anyways, to my problem, like I said before the original computer has zero issues whatsoever, but I use True Image 2013 to clone from the first compuer (master) to the 6 public computers. I then change the name of each public computer and change the ip address on all of them so theyre not running into any issues that way. After a day or two I run into some errors on not one but all of the public computers excluding the master. Some of the issues I have are, when on the patron account the windows button/start button will not open or do anything, I cannot search in the search bar, I can still right click the start button and bring the other options up, such as control panel, shut down or sign out, etc. This then brings me to my next issue, when I click sign out of patron, instead of bringing me back to the sign in page and letting me pick my user account to login to, it signs out then directly signs back into the patron account without giving me an option to select another user. The last common issue I'm having is that sometimes the computer gives a "sorry an unexpected error has occurred", then the computer restarts and comes back up like nothing happened. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Eli, welcome to these user forums.

The first point that I must make is that ATIH 2013 is not supported for use when installed on Windows 10.

See KB 56196: Acronis Products: Windows 10 Support where the key statement in this document is:

Older versions of Acronis products
Support of Windows 10 will not be implemented into older versions of Acronis products (e.g. Acronis True Image 2014 or older, Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 or older, Acronis Snap Deploy 4 or older), as Acronis development team works on the current versions only. Stable functioning of older products on Windows 10 is not guaranteed.

I would strongly recommend that you upgrade to a later version of Acronis True Image if you intend to continue using this product with your Windows 10 systems.

See also forum post: 128231: [IMPORTANT] CLONING - How NOT to do this!!! for warnings about using cloning without fully understanding some of the risks that this can bring.

Further, see KB 58578: Acronis True Image 2017 FAQ which has the following statement if you decide to upgrade to ATIH 2017 (the latest / current Acronis True Image product version)

If you already have Acronis True Image 2014 or older versions, you need to delete these first and then install Acronis True Image 2017.
