Acronis True Image 2013 won't complete backup to Blue Ray Disks.

Thread needs solution

Acronis True Image 2013 won't complete backup to Blue Ray Disks.

Acronis True Image 2013 will get four disks into a full backup and them will not display the box to continue the backup.

Any help/suggestions very much appreciated.

Hello Westin,
If I understand correctly, you are trying to save a back up image to multiple blue ray discs and the software does not prompt for the next disk when the 4th becomes full. Sometimes this has to do with the brand or type of media, but not likely in this case. I believe this is related to hardware or system configuration. First questions:

-Are you performing this back up in windows or from a boot CD? (Boot CD is recommended)
-Are you using the latest version of Acronis 2013? (build 6514) is latest.

We can spend time reviewing log files and attempting to determine why this particular operation is failing, but I would like to ask that you consider the following. Using any type of media that requires spanning between multiple disc's is risky. Why, because it introduces multiple points of failure. If any one of the disc's you are saving to becomes unreadable, your back up will be lost/useless. Using this method to back up to a single disc is ok, but I want to recommend that you not rely on this method to protect your data or system. (back up images than span multiple disks).

I have another question about Burning a Blue Ray DL data disk. Is it better to burn a backup that is 49 gigs to a hard drive and then copy the image from the Hard drive to a BLue Ray DL disk or burn the image directly to the Blue Ray DL disk? Thanks.
