3. Giving MBR3 error @ startup.
4.Backup archive is not showing the backup folders

Hello DORAIRAJ,
Thank you for using Acronis Products
In case issue with MBR error persists you should repair MBR using one of the following method. Boot from Installation Disc (CD) into Recovery Console and run "fixmbr" command.
If you experience problems using the above solution, then please download special Acronis utility from http://download.acronis.com/support/mbrautowrite_en.exe. Use it to create a floppy and boot the machine from the floppy.
If you prefer to a fix MBR using a CD, then please download special Acronis utility from http://download.acronis.com/support/mbrautowrite_en.iso. Use it to create a CD and boot the machine from the CD.
The MBR will be rewritten once you boot the computer from the created media and confirm that you want to fix the MBR.

Hi Bruce/Dmitry:
I've successfully uninstalled and reinstalled the Acronis Home-2009, which is the updated version of my original -10 version.
After installation of the software a new window appeared for one click protection, which i promptly entered for back up. Unfortunately, I got an error msg: 'Operation Failed''.
I had ASZ partition earlier and it IS SHOWING now in grey circle as unallocated. Hence, I have created one more ASZ thro some tab in Home page and got one more ASZ showing in Blue color.
I also tried to back up to my other disk but got the error saying operation failed.
I also tried to use the disk clean up and it started working and after 30 mins while cleaning drive-E, it gave a error msg: ' Run Time Error-Visual C++ Run Time Library''
I am not sure how to explain further on the actual problem any more.
Appreciate your guidance to effectively back up and use on regular basis.
Regards,
Raj

Hi Dimitry:
I tried your solution by copying on the floppy and rebooting.
It is still showing MBR-3 error and one of my hard drive # 3 , is not showing up on my computer hard drive list. I tried REGEDIT command and reassigned and still the disk is not seen in the list.
During booting I also getting error msg:'' INVALID ini...file.... booting from :c// windows''
Also refer to my another e-mail request in the same thread for your advise.
Please expedite as my works are held-up.
Regards,
Raj

I may have posted this in the wrong place, but I repeat it here in hopes that it will be accepted as a "New Topic." Frankly, I don't find where to post new topics even though I asked "How to post new topic" in the search bar. Does "Post New Comment" mean what most other sites call "Post new topic" ? I'm confused!
Anyway, here is what I previoulsy posted:
"I have used True image Home 10 for some years but my PC recently crashed. The recovery disc I had made, and kept in storage for such an occurrence, was unable to recover anything.
I need to get this program onto the HD of the replacement PC so I can recover backups I had made onto an external HD. I realize you will want me to uninstall the program from the first PC and then install it on the newer PC. However I don’t believe that is possible. First, there is little chance of getting anything from the HD that crashed and second, even if I did uninstall the program I would then have no program to re-install since I never received a CD of the program; it was downloaded.
The only way I can see of getting the program again is to download it from your website.
Please advise how I can do this, and confirm that I will be able to use it to recover my backups."

There is a New Topic button at the upper right corner of the page that shows all the topics in the Acronis True Image Forum

If the original computer or drive is gone, it's gone. I don't think Acronis is going to have a problem with it.

That is what you would need to do. You should have access to the downloads if you registered the program in your Acronis account.

If the new computer is running an OS compatible with TI 10, you should be able to install it. Otherwise, you could download the ISO file and create a CD and see if it will support the computer when booted to it.
If that doesn't work, you'll need to download the trial version of the current version of TI and see if you can restore your data using it.

Does the backup image file validate successfully?
When you say it was unable to recover anything, what exactly do you mean? Did you get any error messages? What methods did you try?
