Acronis True Image Home 2009 Help with Consolidation

Thread needs solution

I have been reading the KBs but most of it is on consolidation and speeds etc. Below is a description of my problem. Please pardon me if i am new in this.

My office computer is running Acronis True Image Home 2009 and we do backups of this folder daily. We do backups incrementally and set 20 backups before we consolidate. The question is what actually happens during consolidation (sorry, i couldnt really understand the manuals as it is brief)?

I understand that consolidation deletes unwanted stuff but the company wants all versions of the folder from day x to day y and not just a consolidated copy because we are updating certain files everyday. The consolidated copy of the backup seems to have some files missing or not having the older verisons of files.

Is there any way to this problem? Or can we simply set consolidation after 365 (a year of backup) backups?

notice some threads on the limitations of consolidations to 100.

Does unchecking all the consolidation boxes eliminate consolidation?

Does running a full backup each time eliminate consolidation? I feel taht this will be better

Nigel,

In the backup options, uncheck all boxes in the automatic consolidation section. Watch your backup disk space! If you use incremental backups, limit the number of incrementals before you do a new full backup, and make sure that the backup chains are validated once in a while.
