Acronis TrueImage 2014 media ADDONS plug-in

Thread needs solution

1.) Acronis TI 2014 build 6614 is installed on WIN7 SP1

2.) I created a Reatogo PE (WIN XP Professional SP2 PRE-INTSTALLATION) disk back in 2007 using at the time the latest Mustang TI9.x plug-in that had both backup/restore and mounting features

3.) I saved the original .iso file that was built within Reatogo-240. The disk was successful and never failed me. The TI9.x plug-in worked flawlessly since 2007 on a WINXP machine.

4.) I would simply like to unpack the original GOOD .iso file that still boots and works no matter that I now happen to have Windows 7 installed on the hard drive. I would like to unpack this ReatogoPE .iso file so that I can UPDATE the Acronis TI plugin.

5.) I'd rather just stick with what works, so if anybody knows for certain, I'd just like to run Reatogo-240 and modify the TI9.x plug-in to a TI2014 plug-in. Then compile the .iso again and boot up!

Is this idea feasible? I went to my Acronis account and downloaded the media addons installation file. If I run the ADDONS installation will I be able find the TI2014 plug-in and incorporate it into my UPDATED .iso file. I believe Reatogo-240 will modify/update a plug-in if the plug-in is recognized.

I'm trying to avoid starting over as if I were building from scratch since I already have all the components I need for a successful PE environment EXCEPT for the latest plug-in for Acronis True Image. Thanks.

Your idea might work. After you install the ADDONS, you will need to unzip the winpe.zip file found at C:\Program Files\Acronis\TrueImageHome\BartPE. This will give you the BartPE plugin. You will need to add the XPE shortcuts to the acronis.inf file for use in Reatogo. Open the acronis.inf file with notepad.exe and add the following text to the end of the [Software.AddReg] section of the file:

; XPE Shortcuts
0x2, "Sherpya\XPEinit\Programs","Acronis True Image 9","%SystemDrive%\Programs\Acronis\TrueImage_starter.exe"
0x2, "Sherpya\XPEinit\Desktop","Acronis True Image 9","%SystemDrive%\Programs\Acronis\TrueImage_starter.exe"

I'd like to suggest you consider switching to MustangPE. It's much easier to use. Just follow the link in my signature and use the WAIK version in Windows 7. You will need to download and install the WAIK and download the True Image 2014 plugin as described on my website. I've made it as easy as possible.

Thank you very much. Frankly you must have figured out why I even asked the question. When I look back on it, I can't even believe I built the ReatogoPE in the first place. I had a headache for days after doing it but I sure was glad the CD booted. It has saved my posterior many times. If you are suggesting that MustangPE is much more straightforward and easier for the faint of heart --- then that's for me!
I'll take a look at what I need.

PS. I noticed in your XPE edit there is "Acronis True Image 9"
I probably don't understand XPE shortcut yet but of course I do want to make sure I end up with the plug-in for Acronis True Image 2014

You can change "Acronis True Image 9" to "Acronis True Image 2014". This is just what is displayed in the shortcut and can read anything you like.

I made a correction to my post about the XPE shortcuts. You need to add the text to the [Software.AddReg] section of the acronis.inf file.
