Acronis trying to back up a not-ready drive
I use a Version Change Scheme to perform a weekly backup of three folders on my network drive, Drive N. This backs up to an external drive, Drive G. This has worked fine for months, but has recently started failing with the following error in the log:
"True Image 3/9/2015 10:40:01 AM Failed to back up file or folder 'E:\'.
The drive is not ready. (0x4000B)"
What I do not understand, and cannot find why it is happening, is for what reason it is looking for Drive E (my DVD drive). And in one place in the log it calls E:\ a file or folder and in another place a drive. Nowhere in the settings is drive E mentioned.
I might add that I use the same settings to back up my C and S drives without this problem.
Any help will be appreciated!
EDIT: I put a disc in my drive E and now the error disappeared. Question remains though. Why is Acronis even looking for the DVD drive E?

Thank you for the reply. All drives are assigned a letter through Disk Management. In this case backing up three folders on my N drive, to a backup folder on my G drive. Interestingly, according to the log, the backup job starts then goes about checking all drive partitions proir to starting my backup. At that point it fails because it says E:\ is not available. If I click on RETRY, it proceeds with the job.
I found out yesterday that having a DVD in my E drive allows the backup to start and run. That is something new in in the last month or so. I do not want to have to keep a disc in the drive just to allow scheduled backup to run. As I said before, I have three other scheduled backups and they do not exhibit this issue.
Thanks again.
