Acronis® True Image Home® version 10.0 (build 4,942)
Hi to anyone who can help me out with the error message when attempting backup today. Never before has this happened. I have been running Acronis 10 for years on my laptop OS Windows XP home without an issue so am anxious for assistance if possible.

The simple answer to my issue was:
Start > run > msconfig > services > enable Acronis Scheduler service > apply without restart.
Thanks for your website however I thought to check the above, tried an incremental backup and all is well.

One of the finest version of ati ever produced, bar none. Not fool proof, but reliable as all get out compared to both older and newer versions -- only it doesn't work on newer hardware and with newer OSs. alas.
You could also go into My Computer, Manage, Services and Applications, Services. then find the service and set to On and also right click it and set properties to Auto. Then the service can start any time ATI calls for it.

Thanks very much Scott, just another way of doing it as you pointed out. Folk learn from posts such as yours and mine if they get into the same trouble. Yes, Acronis 10 has served me well since 2006.
