Acronis® True Image WD Edition® version 11.0 (build 8,311)

Thread needs solution

Thank you in advance for any help with this problem.

I recently purchased an new WD HD and was given a link to your product to help with the installation of the new drive and "cloning" my current HD to the new.
However, once I installed your product my computer couldn't reboot.
I have read many different forums and helps for others that seem to have a similar problem (although it doesn't appear to be the WD version).
I was able to restore the system using the last known working configuration but now I get an "E000101F4: Unable to open (initialize) computer....." error whenever I try to use the product.
The Snap program didn't seem to help either.
Really not sure what to do here? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mark

You should try to get your original hd booting the way it was before. Try using a Windows Restore point with a date previous to when you installed True Image. Let us know if this is successful and we'll go from there.

Luckily I do have the ability to boot from the last known good configuration. So I am at full functionality. It is just the program that isn't working.
Here is the Error Msg:

E000101F4: Unable to open (initialize) computer

Unable to initialize snapshot manager library (0x100005)
Tag = 0x8D5BF87C202E86C7
The system cannot find the file specified (0xFFF0)
code = 80070002) This line really only has one bracket?
Tag = 0xBD28FDBD64EDB8AF
OK

Once I select OK the program opens anyway. And even seems to work okay as I browse the options. However, once I make a selection the same EC comes up and the program won't go any further? I have tried uninstalling the program, both through add/remove programs and using your removal tool. And reinstalling. I have tried using the SnapAPI_l_s_e.zip program but that doesn't seem to help either.

Thanks for your help.

Some of the regulars would say that ver. 11 was one of the buggiest ever. You should get your system to where there isn't a single trace of the installation of ver. 11. One way would be to use a Windows Restore point after uninstalling the software by the usual means.

Then I would try the latest Trial version which is ver 2010.
