Advice for older Operating Systems - "Recover Operation Failed"

Thread needs solution

At work, I'm using TIH 2011 to back up some lab systems. They were using Norton Ghost for a long time, but I have been converting those Ghost images to Acronis. It is necessary to have a backup for all operating systems. I have noticed that I was able to create and test successful images for Windows XP/2000/NT.

However, I can create images for DOS and Windows 98, but when I try to test them, it does not work. I receive a general message stating that the "recover operation failed" with no elaboration. There's nothing in the log either.

It's a rather large hard disk and I'm wondering if the system is having trouble restoring the image because it might result in such a large boot sector. The problem I am facing is that I can't seem to fix this when I go to create the image in the first place.

Can anyone offer some suggestions here?

I'm sorry about the vague post, but without a proper error message from Acronis about why the recover failed, I'm just making guesses here.

Are you doing the recovery from the recovery CD? This is preferred.
