Any issues I need to know about installing TI after uninstall of Paragon ?

A friend has a Toshiba laptop running W7 64 bit with Paragon "Backup and Recovery Free 2010" installed. It's too slow, won't do incrementals, and has far to complex an interface so would like them to switch to Acronis which I have used for years.

So, questions... from what I gather googling "uninstall Paragon" it seems that the MBR may have been modified by Paragon. Would that effect Acronis if that has occured ?

Is there any recommened course of action to uninstall Paragon and install Acronis ?
Do I need to perhaps run a W7 start up repair and rebuild the MBR ?

As it's not my laptop I want to be sure I get it right.
