This evening Acronis worked and earned its cost … couldn't resist the IE 9 beta, but at least I had the good sense to image C-drive prior to installing the new browser and its five prerequisite hot fixes and patches.

IE 9, for those of you who are curious, really does render images noticeably faster than IE 8 or Firefox 3.6.9. I was testing the x64 version, so I can't speak to Flash videos. Its minimalist interface has some appeal (thanks Chrome).

However, either the app itself or more likely one of those 'prerequisites' wrecked the display of Nero 9's DiscCopy Gadget for 32-bit Sidebar. Deal breaker for me. (A superbly functional gadget and probably the coolest ever created for Sidebar.)

ATiH 2010 worked. When it counted. Period. — I know it's now the age of version 2011 and that this forum is devoted to problems. Once in a while, though, an encouraging word is warranted.

Your experience has also been mine many times over the years. I have total confidence to try out things I definitely would not have without knowing I can revert back, and of course I know my data, photo's, video's, etc are safe.

Thanks for taking the time to post a positive response - the very nature of the forums means we don't get that many.

Unfortunately, positive posts almost always attract the opposite and then a tit for tat exchange occurs! Lets hope not.
