ATI-10 recovery of XP partition 'operation 1of2' requires reboot, but '2of2 does not restore after reboot ?

Thread needs solution

1. Reinstalled XPro over fully formatted HD C:
2, reinstalled ATI-10,
3. use full XP partition recovery, with Restore Data Wizard, from external HD (full backup) .tib file,
4. click on partition NTFS(C:), but not 'MBR and Track 0',
5. restore partition type 'Active',
6. used 'default' partition size screen,
7. click on 'Yes, assign a logical drive letter...' C:
8. click on No' for restore another partition,
9. click on 'Use default options'... same as used in backup,
10. 'ready to proceed' screen shows operation 1of2 includes 'Reboot required'
11. click proceed and after analyze C:, get 'Warning' message & shows 'W000A03EB: A reboot is required...',
12. upon reboot, get 'Starting Acronis Loader', appears to start with 'analyzing Partition C:' screen/bar, and then suddenly stops and PC reboots XP without any recovery.
Thoughts ?

The restore wiped out the fresh install and put the system back to what it was at time of backup.

If your backup was a full and complete backup of the entire disk, then I would do a fresh restore.

Boot from the TI Recovery CD and perform the restore when booted to the CD.

Review signature link #3 below, select item 2 and use the #2 as a howto gude to restore the old backup onto your disk.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
Note: If you are really referring to the old version 10 (and not version 2010), then for old version 10,. you need to clck on signature link 1 below and find index item 3-YY and 3-ZZ as a guide.

Thanks for the followup !
Will take a look at the links, in meantime the results of boot to ATI cd...
1. 'Starting Acronis Loader...’ appears on black boot screen
2. get ATI screen and click on '...(Full Version)', next
3. ATI image screen, then, get 'Pick a Task' screen, click on ‘Recovery', next
4. 'Restore Data Wizard', next
5. analyzes partitions, get 'Archive Selection' and choose external HD fullbackupfile.tib, next
6. Restoration Type, pick Restore... partitions', next
7. 'Active' selection of .tib file on cd, next
8. 'Partition or Disk to Restore', check 'NTFS (C:)', next
9. 'Next' tab (and all others) turn gray, and get 'click' sound wherever try to 'pick' anything on the ATI screen/s
10. need to shut-off laptop to re-start
Ps: Did 'Validation' of backup and it came out 'ok'. ATIHome vers 10.0, build 4942.

Update...
Followed steps on 'gh-acronis-recovery1.pdf (with cd boot), and the step R-4 screen didnt show up, and when got to step R-6, click next, all 'froze' and got the 'click' sound (same as described earlier).
So left the PC sit and when came back, step R-7 was shown... obviously there was some 'processing' going on during the 'freeze'. It is now at step 'R-12'... ie showing 'Operation Progress' :)
Hopefully all is well.
Thanks much !
