ATI 2011 doesn't backup on Qnap NAS

Thread needs solution

Hi,

just upgraded to ATI 2011 and discovered, that a backup to my Qnap NAS doesn't work. The progressbar keeps staying gray for hours and nothing happens. When I cancel and click on open backup location, an authentication screens shows up. When I enter the usernane abd password, that has appropriate access rights to the hdd on the NAS, the connection can not be made.

Even the backup on an existing secure zone doesn't work. I tried to delete the secure zone and set up a new, but just could find a way to do so.

In 2010 version the backup to the NAS worked without problem.

How can I backup to my NAS?

regards

Manuel

I deleted the old Partition with the existing secure zone and created a new one. Backup to secure zone now works.

Still I don't know how to set up the backup to my NAS. I have read through some other posts and read something about credentials for the NAS, but in my credential manager of win7 ultimate there is no entry for my NAS. I have connected them as online store and mapped a drive letter to it. My Windows Authentication is the same as for my NAS Shares.

Any suggestions?

Same problem here:

NAS access worked with v2010 and it cannot access with v2011.

Hello Acronis?

Hello Manuel and Jochen!

Thank you for finding time to open the thread regarding this question and for your comments.

We actually had an issue with the backup on NAS with Acronis True Image Home 2011, but it was solved, and you can find the solution instructions here.

We would appreciate if you could kindly test the solution and let us know the results.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!

I just tried that with build 5519 and my Synology NAS server, the solution did not work even though the connection test was successful and the settings were saved (at least according to ATI 2011).

The original ATI 2011 build I installed at least allowed me to back up to the Synology NAS server, the 5519 update does not.

At this point ATI 2011 is useless to me. Unless a new patch comes out soon and actually makes the program usable, I'm tossing it in the trash and getting something else.

Dear Torsten Hoff!

Thank you for your comment.

I completely share your frustration regarding the situation. Another workaround that can solve the issue is to leave one unique user on the shared folder with full permissions. If this requirement is met, the folder will prompt for credentials, and backup will run fine.

I've contacted our Development team: currently they are working on Update 1 that will contain this fix as well. Yet we do not have any timeframes regarding its release available. If you wish, you can sign up to our newsletters, and you'll be notified first when we have it released.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please, let us know, we will be glad to help you.

Thank you!

I have done that as well, and the backup still fails. At this point I'm forced to do my backups using bootable recovery media.
