ATI 2011: Recovery CD freezing

Thread needs solution

I installed the trial version of ATI 2011 and made a bootable cd (downloaded iso, burned to cd with magiciso). It boots from the cd, and loads ATI, but as soon as the mouse pointer shows up on screen, and i move the mouse, the program freezes. I have to do a hard shut down (ctrl+alt+del wont work).

I ended up purchasing ATI 2011 and the Plus Pack, and made another recovery cd (this time directly to cd). Still having same problem.

Any ideas? My PC is completely stable.

Hello George,

Thank you for posting and welcome to the forum. I will definitely help you with this issue.

It is not clear at the moment why it occurs, it is possible there is a conflict between our software and the mouse driver.

I would recommend the following temporary workaround for now. Please check this article for the list of Linux kernel parameters, we can try booting with one of them. To enable one of them, please press F11 when you see the words Starting Acronis Loader. You will get a prompt into which you can type them in. For example: acpi=off and press Ok. The bootable media will load with this parameter which helps with certain hardware configurations. You do not have to try all of them, you can try up to nousb2.

In order to fully investigate this issue, I would recommend to contact our Support team with this report - Generating Acronis System Report from Acronis Bootable Media without Booting into GUI. It will help us to get to the bottom of this problem.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.
