ATI Home 2010 : Windows XP 64 SP2 does not boot after Installation

Thread needs solution

Hi,

my old ATI 9 didn´t work on the new WIN XP 64 SP2 machine,
so I tried it with the today´s download of ATI Home 2010.

Installation was possible, but after the reboot WIN does not start,
the whole systems hangs with a "black screen".

Even a change in BIOS (which lead to a BSOD before ATI installation)
hangs with a black screen, it seems that the system stops before the SATA are loaded.

Is this problem known ?
How can I solve the problem without a repair via WIN XP-CD ?
Thanks.

have the same problem. 2009 works perfect. installed the 2010 and loaded fine. was told i had to reboot so i did. all went fine until windows started loading files. then the computer rebooted. this continues in a loop. windows never completely loads up. at that point there is nothing i can do except reload the last image from the restore disk. even tried a clean install of windows. same problem. tried uninstalling the 2009 first. same problem. is there a video issue that needs to be addressed. or a resolution problem. been working on this for about 3 weeks now and sofar have not had any luck. anyone else have the problem???

I just had same issue after putting on latest TI 2010 level. I powered cycled the PC and thankfully it came back up. There is something not quite right with the installer. Also, while installing I had a busy file problem - file being held by explorer.exe. To get around I killed the explorer.exe process (not a pretty thing).

In general, it wasn't worth upgrading to TI 2010. TI 2009 ran just fine. This level performs poorly on full backups. Slowwww

Hello all,

Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.

Let me help you with the issue.

Most probably, the issue was caused by Acronis SnapAPI drivers, that are responsible for all input/output operations with hard drives. To fix it, you need to update the drivers to the latest build.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

Thank you.

I am having same problem installing the new ATI Home 2011. Have ATI Home 2010 and no problem installing it.
Have Windows XP 32 SP3

Absolutely unbelievable that after installing, Windows XP will not completely reboot and just continues to recycle. Had to do a system restore using Norton Go Back 4.0. Again, no problem installing ATI Home 2010.
