ATI2010: "Backup Reserve Copy" Fails w/o Error

Thread needs solution

I have configured ATI2010 to make a "backup reserve copy," but no reserve copy is created. (I've configured ATI to make a *.tib copy.) I've tried copies to a UNC path, a mapped drive as well as two local drives (one sata, one USB). No copy is made, and there is no error message. Thus, I must manually drag over a copy as I always have.

Any ideas? My mainboard is the MSI P55 CD53, and my drives are installed on the Intel SATA controller in RAID0. Everything else works great, including scheduled and non-schedules backups, Try & Decide, Online Backup and Non-Stop Backup. I just can't get "backup reserve copy" to work.

My machine is running a fully patched WinXP Pro SP3, and I'm still running ATI2010 build 5055.

(Backup reserve copy never worked for me in TI2009, either.)

TIA!

Hello twokatmew,

I understand your question and I’m pretty sure that it is not an issue at all.

Reserve copies are applicable for file/folder (My Data) backup type. If you perform full drive/partition backup no reserve copies will be created. Here is what is written in Acronis True Image Home 2010 user guide:

“When you choose the My Data backup type for backing up selected files and folders, you can create reserve copies of your backups and save them on the file system, a network drive, or a USB flash drive.”

If it’s not the case please let me know.

Looking forward for your reply.

Thank You.

Thank you for that clarification, Dmitry. I use other backup solutions for my data, only periodically creating a data backup using ATI. I'm contemplating using ATI's data backup more often though, so I welcome this information.
