ATI2010 ~ Operation Status

Thread needs solution

Hi,

During a backup process the Operation status appears to be stuck on intializing. However if you hover over the ATI icon in the system try it is showing a true indication of its progress.

Also when the back up completes there is a notification but the Operation window remains

The progess indicator is notoriously unreliable.

However something is obviously either preventing the GUI from closing down or the screen from being redrawn.

What version of W7 do you have?

Is TI still shown as running in Task Manager?

If you hide the progress bar does it then close down correctly?

Does this also happen with scheduled tasks?

there is a acronis monitor service running, thats all I see (when backup completes)

Do you mean after the backup is complete? It seems too.

Not sure I only spotted this while creating new backups. Scheduled ones are yet to run

I've reported this to Tech Support. Got an incident number but nothing from them as yet.
In fact I reported 2 other bugs I found with ATI 2010

Application crash when trying to backup Documents and Settings instead of Users
Unable to show "operation status" while backup running.

During a backup process the Operation status appears to be stuck on intializing.
I am running Windows 7 64 bit Professional, i7 940 with 12gig RAM.

I also have this problem with ATI2010, most recent build (7.046). The "operation status" window never changes from "initializing" and the progress bar doesn't move. I can hide the window by clicking on "hide", and in the main "tasks management" window the backup shows as "running".

The backup does seem to back up for a while, the task runs and the backup drive is being accessed, but eventually it stops doing anything. At that point the tasks management window still shows the backup as "running". However, it doesn't seem to update because when I selected one of the other backup tasks, the status was changed to "Aborted by user". I can tell you I didn't abort it because it was running when I went to bed and by this morning it was not doing anything any more.

This is on Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit, with the plus pack installed.

Hello all,

We're really sorry for the difficulties you've experienced with Acronis software.

We'll do everything possible to resolve the issue, but we need additional information from your side.

We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience.

Thank you.

The backup progress is unimaginably unpredictable and useless.  This is how it looks on my computer:

The progress bar always go full in a matter of seconds and stay that way.  Then the tray icon will go up to the 70000% and the backup is complete.

After chatting with an Acronis tech support (which unfortunately was interrupted when the chat window closed) I realized that the problem with the Operation Status window not updating may be the cause of the backups failing. Looking at the log for the backup, it says:

Disk is full, free up more space blah blah .. Retry / cancel. User response: cancel.

So my interpretation is that what happened was that since the operation status window doesn't update, it doesn't show me the dialog about running out of space and either does nothing until I click on "hide" (which now is supposed to be "cancel") and then the job is cancelled, or just interprets not being able to open the dialog as cancel.

I must say I'm disappointed: TIH 10 always worked flawlessly for me, but 2010 seems flaky in many respects.

I have the same problem. I'm trying to run Acronis True Image Home 2010 on a 64-bit Windows 7 Gateway computer. On backup, the "Operation Status" window says "initializing" and never changes. Acronis tech support has sent me on several wild goose chases with system tweaks that don't work. I have another machine running Windows XP with True Image Home 11, which works fine. I'm just glad I'm using the 30-day trial edition of Home 2010, which I will now uninstall and search for another developer's software. Anybody have any suggestions?

Hello Allan,

Please accept our profound apologies for the delays and for the level of support you get, we'll do our best to prevent such situations from happening in future.

As I can see, you case is still open and investigation of the reason of the issue is still continues. In you case it's not just a GUI issue like it's being discussed in this thread, it something else.

Please reply to this thread if you have any questions.

Thank you.

I,m running win 7 utimate 64 bit every thing I try to do it boots up to a screen that sya resumenmg windows

Larry,

Why do you think your problem is related to TIH 2010?

Does Windows resume?
