ATI2010 Stops Mounting a Disk Image Full Backup

Thread needs solution

I made a disk image full backup which I could mount when needed. I mounted it several times in read/write mode and made changes, so that I have the original and several edited .tib files listed in the attachment under TOSHIIBA3.

If I highlight the backup set TOSHIIBA3 I can mount that but what am I actually seeing in the mount--original TOSHIIBA or a consolidation of all the TOSHIIBA files (slices?) together.

When I try to mount the original backup file TOSHIIBA I get the message CANNOT ASSIGN A DRIVE LETTER TO A PARTITION FROM THE BACKUP ARCHIVE. I can, however, explore it, restore it, validate it without errors.

I can mount the edited .tib files--are they incremental or differential? I am assuming incremental.

What would cause ATI2010 to stop being able to mount an archive it formerly had no trouble with?

And would it be safe to delete the edited .tib files and keep the original?

Hello Kathleen,

I will do everything possible in order to resolve the issue you experience.

There can be various causes for the issue you encounter:

You can safely delete edited backups, it won’t influence the original full backup so that you will be able to restore data from it when needed.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you.
