ATIH 2011 (6696) - Trying to Backup To Network Drive Using Bootable Rescue CD.

Thread needs solution

I'm a registered user of ATIH 2011 (build 6696). I've searched "high & low" throughout the "Knowledge Base" and it got a little overwhelming searching thru all the material.

I've just purchased a new Asus laptop that I'd like to backup "as-is" before I start removing and adding applications. I'm using a bootable rescue disk created from the above version of TI but I can't seem to discover how to create the backup on a network drive.

I choose the "Browse for Location" button to store my image but I can't find a way to specify a network location. All that is displayed is "My Computer" components & "FTP Connections".

If I allow the laptop to bootup into W7 OS as it would normally, it has been successfully joined to a domain and I can browse to any network location I care to within the OS.

Would anyone be kind enough to point me in the right direction here?

Sincerely,
ballen

Blair,

First, I would use the latest build. You can download the latest bootable ISO from your acronis.com account and create a new CD. See if this CD can see your network.
The CD takes some time to discover the network shares, once you have click on the unfolding triangle.

Pat,

Appreciate the timely response!

Yes, this was the fix. Updated NIC drivers would be my guess, since this is a new laptop.

Forgive me for not thinking of this sooner. Though my TI was up-to-date, my bootable rescue wasn't. Lesson learned!

Many thanks!!!
