ATIH 2012 Unable to read from external USB 3.0 Hard Drive

Thread needs solution

Within Windows 7, I made a backup to my USB 3.0 external Hard Drive. When I tried to restore the backup by Booting from ATIH 2012 Rescue disk, it could not find my Hard drive.

Tried running restore from within Windows 7 but it did not help as the program, after a while, reboots and then runs from a Linux environment. It could not locate my external USB 3.0 hard drive !!

Any solutions?

Thanks!!

Other than moving the backup (*.tib file) to a different drive, you would need to carry out the restore operation within an environment that
a) includes the USB 3.0 drivers required for recognizing the source drive, and
b) does NOT require rebooting in order to complete the operation.

Best bet would probably be to create a bootable Windows PE "rescue disc" that includes the required USB 3.0 drivers and use that instead of the Linux version.

Sorry, being new to the forum, Is there a link here that shows how to create a bootable Windows PE "Rescue Disk?".

Thanks for your help :-))
