ATIH ver 10 cloning problems

Thread needs solution

Hi - I'd be very grateful if anyone can help or advise me.

I use ATIH vers 10 to clone the drive in my PC with XPpro, to another drive of the exact same make & size, IDE Seagate 160gb. My source drive has 3 Primary partitions, which hold 3 different versions of Windows. It also has 4 Logical drives in an Extended partition - 3 hold data & personal stuff, & the 4th is a small 1gb partition for my XOSL Boot Manager - the PC boots to this Manager to offer me the 3 OSs.

I clone using an ATIH vers 10 bootable CD, from the source to target drive. Once completed, I replace the source drive with the target drive as a single master.

The problem is, that the cloned drive does NOT boot to the Boot Manager! If I check the drive, all the 3 primary & 3 logical drives are shown as being cloned, but the small logical partition is either shown as 'Unallocated' or missing completely!

I have to fix this by using a partition tool to repair the Unallocated or missing partition, then re-install my Boot Manager. But this shouldn't be necessary!

Can anyone advise why this happens?

Many thanks if you can help.

Colin

Try
1. Attach blank target disk inside computer to same boot connector as original
2. attach source disk to someplace different--either external or internal.
3. Boot to the TI Recovery CD
4. Use the Clone method but use the manual method using the "as is" move method.

5. Shutdown and remove source disk. (also remove TI CD)
6. Reboot into Windows with only the newly cloned disk attached.
