Backing up OS with data

Thread needs solution

I am  using an Asus E200HA netbook which comes with 2GB RAM, 32GB SSD storage (and an additional 32GB in the SD slot for storing programs. It has a 1.44Ghz atom processor and is running Windows 10 64Bit.

I only use basic programs such as Microsoft office 2010, audacity, Acronis True image 2015 , PDF reader. I have 7GB left on my SSD drive after installing all my windows updates. MS office and my programs are  installed on my SD slot along with programs which didn't come pre installed on my Asus netbook. I have 24GB of the 32GB free on my SD card.

Now that my laptop is virus free and has all my programs installed , I would like to create an image backup containing BOTH the OS, programs and data. How do I do that? Also, what size of flashdrive do I need? I also have an external hard disk with 20GB left on it. Could I use that?

Christopher, welcome to these User Forums.

You should be able to make an 'Entire PC' backup of your internal 32GB SSD and 32GB SD card drives but I would recommend saving this to an external disk drive.  This could possibly fit on your drive with 20GB free space but there would be very little space left if it will fit?

Ideally, you should be using a backup drive with around 100GB of space available.

If you look at the Useful Links section of the forum page and open the MVP User Tools and Tutorials link, you will find a document there showing 'How to create a new backup using Acronis True Image 2016' which shows you the steps needed to do the backup.  There should be very little difference between your 2015 version and using 2016.
