Backing up second hard drive

I have a dual boot system with XP 32 bit installed on one drive and Windows 7 64 bit on a second drive.

I make my backups to a third hard drive.
I have TI 2010 installed on my XP drive.

My question is:

While running XP can I make a backup of my windows 7 drive while in XP or do I have to install 2010 on my Windows 7 drive also?
