Backing up Win 7 32 bit with ATI 2009-build 9709; time for a newer build?

Thread needs solution

I have been backing up my Win 7 Home premium 32 bit desktop computer with ATI 2009-build 9709 since Windows 7 first came out. I keep my backups on an external HD. They always verify but I've never had to restore. I've used a bootable USB stick to run through several test-restores successfully, up to the last step, but never actually made the final step to transfer the files. Should I upgrade to a newer build or stick with 9709?
I have seen as many people saying TI 2009 is risky with Windows 7 as I've seen saying it works fine. The windows compatibility page says it's okay. What's the consensus on this now after a couple of years in the mix?
Thanks,
Rusty

If you can backup and validate your backups, if you can backup all the partitions on your system disk, and if you can access your backup from the CD, you are in good shape. I would not worry about upgrading.
If you decide to try 2011, remember to backup your system first, then uninstall 2009, reboot and install the trial. Remember that your 2009 version will not restore backup files done with your 2011 trial version.

2011 as a very different UI. If I were you, I'd wait until the 2012 version to try something new.
