Backup to Cloud Very Slow (too slow to make it fit for purpose)
I have just responded to the email offer offering unlimited cloud storage upgrade. A back up which takes about 60 minutes to complete to an external hard drive is suggesting between 13 and 14 days to complete. This is about 250 gb of data and I am aware my upload speeds (medium fibre) are a lot slower that download. I was expecting a complete backup to take several hours to the cloud but two weeks makes it totally pointless. I have made direct contact to express my point of view and ask to cancel the cloud subscription andI will stay with using an extra hard drive for backups. However not sure contacts methods I tried are getting through.

What is your upstream Internet speed? This number, as you probably know, if typically much lower than the download speed, which the ISP advertises...

I too am experiencing these INCREDIBLY slow backups. I have the latest version of True Image 2015 for Mac. My drive has about 350GB to backup. I have FIOS at both my apartment and at my office and my upload speeds to the midwest (where the data-centers are) averages 50Mbps to 75Mbps. It has still taken almost 10 days to get to 97% complete on my initial cloud backup.
This is too slow to even use as a Monthly option, doing daily and weekly to local storage. I am going to give it a month or so to see if it improves, but if not I am going to demand my money back.
I have made sure I have no DB server or web server running overnight EVERY night since I started this backup. The main drive that is being backed up is an SSD so drive speed is not an issue and the system has 16GB RAM and no other major apps running in the foreground or background all night, every night to try and get this to complete. I have turned off Dropbox, Google Drive and ANY software that syncs to a cloud service before going to bed. Even with all of that, 8-ish hours later in the morning the completion has only gone up by 3-4%.
I am traveling tomorrow and I had hoped when I started this that I would have a cloud based backup done BEFORE I started traveling for the season. I though 2 weeks was PLENTY of time to have that done! Oh well... I guess I have to lug a physical backup around with me in my luggage.

My up speed is 10MBS. I too bought into the unlimited offer.
I should have thought this through instead of jumping on board with this. Backing up a large disk image to the cloud is a ridiculous idea now that I have played around with this.
Every time I open up the Acronis UI the cloud backup fails and I have to restart it.
What I am going to do with this until the subscription expires is some folder sync on some critical data. Problem with that though it has failed several times too. Better is the enemy of good. Sticking with my externals.

What I want to know is how do I cancel once it starts. It is too slow. Even after i reboot, it still starts up again. This is poor design if i can't figure this out.

I am trying the cloud service and it seems too slow. I show 12 Mbs on Ookla and my task monitor shows Acronis taking 1.5 of that.... For a 50GB disk - it estimates 3 days....
If it would run at full uplink speed, it might finish in fininte time.
