backup destination server doesn't show up in network list

Thread needs solution

I have just built a Windows Server 2008 system and want to use the disk space for my backups. This system is part of my company domain. However, when I go to my network places, it does not show up BUT I can see the shared folders if I enter the system as \\servername.

Is there a way to manually add this destination to an Acronis client backup job?

BTW, I can ping and nslookup this computer.

Thanks,

Bill

When using ATI with a network drive, use a UNC path to your NAS device for a backup destination, not a typical friendly "mapped" drive. e.g.
\\192.168.2.25\My Backups\

I believe it may also be possible to use a UNC path that includes server name rather than IP, such as
\\server1\My Backups\
But, no users in the forum have yet confirmed that.
