Backup failing on timeout

Thread needs solution

Hi

I am using True Image 2012 and I am having problems over the last few days. All the backups on both files and emails are failing. I am not sure whats up.

I have completely removed all the incremental backups and started fresh but the problem persists.

I have even attempted to backup one folder on my desktop which contains one file but it times out also. With the folder with one file, acronis almost completes but I get 'less than one minute remaining' for ages but it never completes.

Any assistance much appreciated.

Thanks
Will

There are any number of reasons and places to look.
1. Check to make sure the drive letter on the storage disk has not changed. This could happen if another device such as a flash drive has been inserted and consumed the drive letter normally assigned by the storage disk.
2. Look at the log file and read the errors. Disk could be full.

If problem not one of the above, we need pictures of some of your settings and storage folder showing the file names, etc.

Hi

All my problems started when I moved the PC. The driver letter did change but it actually changed on Acronis also. I did change the driver letter again to 'O' just to make sure there wasnt a conflict but that still didnt work. There is loads of room on the external drive I am backing up to so thats not the problem. I also did a checkdisk on the external drive and it came up clean. See error log screen shot below. By the way I have the same problem with a seperate backup for Microsoft Outlook.

UPDATE: I just attempted a backup of my email and I used the internal drive and the backup went through fine. I just seems to be the external drive. But like I said I have checked the disk and it's fine.

Thanks
Will

Yep, I did a clean backup on both email and files and all fail! I don't understand what is preventing the backups from completing!?

Look at the log file for the new failures and see if there are some any reasons stated for the failures.
You might want to check your entire disk for disk errors which would also check for file issues as well.

Hi

I am still having problems with this. Today I purchased 2015 and I also recieved a new external drive and the problem persists. Error writing file.
