Backup Files are different sizes ???

Thread needs solution

On 11/17/13, I sent an email to customerservice@acronis.com and did not get any response. On 11/22/13, I resent the same email but still did not get a response. Is customerservice@acronis.com the correct address for email tech support? Please confirm or correct.

The content of those emails voice my concerns of the integrity and reliability of Acronis backups. I am using Acronis True Image Home 2013 on a Windows 7 x64 computer.

My specific concern is with the integrity of the individual backups that have been created. Those backup range in size from 90,732 KB to 10,559,669 KB.

I believe it may be impossible to PROPERLY conduct a “Restore” operation of current data considering such variable sizes. Please clarify this issue.

Are these backups non-stop online, cloud or what?

First, I hope you have other files which you did not include in your display as there is no full backup and none can be restored without the full base.

Thes files are marked as "inc" or incremental and as such each file is the changes in the computer disk sectors FROM THE LAST PRECEDING BACKUP. If you run an automatic defrag, then each change made by the defrag program represents changes in disk sector and will show up in the next Inc.

The program does not record changes in files but records changes in disk sectors. If you have any bad disk sectors, this could also account for multiplereads and changes location which would be included within the backup.

If is impossiblefor use to say the exact cause but am offering some places to look.
