Backup naming idiosyncrasy

Thread needs solution

I'm using TI Home 2011 on Windows 7 x64. I've created a backup process that's supposed to name my backups MyBackup_@date@. Some are named appropriately (e.g. MyBackup_2010-09-25.tib) but others have a parenthetical added (e.g. MyBackup_2010-09-27(1)).

1. Why?

2. How can I get it to stop adding the parenthetical?

3. I can't find the place in the program where backup names are set (even though I obviously found it at some point to create the name in the first place). If I go to the Operations/Edit backup settings screen for the process, Backup name is given as MyBackup_ (no @date@) even though it adds the date (sometimes with the parenthetical) when it runs the process.

Personally, I find the UI staggeringly worse than on 2010. There's clearly something I'm just not getting.

Thanks for the help.
