Backup Operation Failed-Now I can't boot
I'm unable to make a complete backup booting from a rescue CD. Half way through I get "Backup operation failed" and nothing else. When I then try to re-boot, I get "The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible". First 2 times this happened I wasn't able to repair in any way and had to do a complete re-install. This 3rd time I was able to use the Win7 startup repair to fix it. I've tried TI2011, TI2013, switched backup drives (internal sata port), switched sata ports the drives use, switched CD drives, switched power supply, even installed Win7 64bit on different drives prior to making a backup. On 2/10/2015 I was able to make a first and second backup, but when I tried to use it as a restore, I got an error also that the restore failed, and of course the OS was fried, and back to square one again. I am able to mount the backups on another computer and view their contents, but have no way of trusting them, or knowing if they are complete. Any suggestions?

Greetings,
You've given us an error that can have more than one cause. I too would suspect memory as a primary cause. With that ruled out, capturing an acronis system report might help with further diagnosis.
Have you confirmed BIOS settings > Boot Order. These could change when you move SATA cables between ports. I'd also check the health of my disks to be thorough and complete. Your issue appears to be software related, but troubleshooting through a forum makes it easy to miss things which may be obvious that we cannot see.

The current state is that I am able to boot (after reinstall) but the backup fails. The disks health have all been checked, BIOS is fine, cables have been checked or replaced. How do you capture an Acronis system report?
