Backup Scheme Advice (Harddrive Sizes)
My primary Hard drive is 1TB I have another 1TB for the backup.
Which backup scheme is best suited so that the backup drive doesn't get full from the actually backup procedure?
Currently the total backup averages around 700GB on a weekly basis.

As I interpret your posting, your 700GB is the size of all your backups for the week and this is the amount of space consumed on the storage drive. What is the size of the individual full and sizes of any dif or inc backups.
Your disk size would not allow you to keep two full weeks backups but it might just barely allow you to keep 1 weeks chains plus the first full before the first chain is deleted. TI will not delete the first weeks backup until its replacement is complete.
So if you had 1 full plus 6 differentials as part of your chain, TI would not delete the first weeks chain (7 files) until the replacement is made. Thus, you must have enough space (temporarily) for the all the files of the first chain plus enough space for the first full of the 2nd chain. After the 2nd chain has been created, then the first chain of 7 files would be deleted.
You could get around this limitation by doing the full more frequently and fewer differentials/incrementals; or
you could use TI to delete one weeks files before you start the 2nd week but that is not a good safety practice as it would leave you without any backups with no way to restore.
Or, get a larger storage drive.
Maybe you have some large static files which could be moved off onto other storage so they could be bypassed as part of the backup.

Thank you both for the help :)
I will try a Full weekly backup with daily differentials with auto-clean up.
I have set it to store no more than two daily chains.
I also have a large amount of video files that I've been meaning to burn of DVD's for backup which should save a lot of space.
Regards.

Once you have the video files backed up onto DVD's, you can leave them on the hard drive but set the backup to bypass them so they would not be included in the backup. If your disk were to be replaced, you would need to restore them from the DVD as they would not exist on the backup.

Excellent idea!! I wouldn't have thought of that :)
I'm not sure if I can skip the files though as I do partition backups, but I'll double check.
It's only a temporary dilemma anyway as I'll be swapping my drives out for 2x2TB's drives & putting all videos onto the old 1TB's.
Kind Regards, AH.
