Backups are being cancelled by timeout

Thread needs solution

Twice I have attempt to run a full backup of two disks onto a single backup. Both times I have left the computer running the backup overnight. In the morning I am greeting with a failure on the backup with the following message:

The last backup has been cancelled by timeout.

I can find no information on what this really means or what is causing the time out. Why are the backups being cancelled?

Raymond,

Is your 'H' drive an external drive, and if so, is it part of a NAS?

What entries are appearing in the task log?

I'm having the same problem when I try to run either an Incremental or a Differential backup (I've tried both twice). It shows a backup progress bar making progress, but then after I leave and come back later that message appears: "The last backup has been cancelled by timeout." I'm backing up to a local external hard drive. Can anyone help with this? Thank you!

Link 3, item #9 could be a workaround for you . Several others have been successful in using this.
