I need to take my current drive and copy it a new, larger drive which contains the xp operating system. Which is the best method, clone or image copy/restore. I have seen some comments that seem to suggest that clone method is not preferable. Thanks,

Backup followed by Restore is safer. There have been reports of users doing Clone and afterwards find their source drive wiped. Whether this is pilot error or something gone awry is impossible to tell.

If you do Backup then Restore, you can remove the source from the computer (and keep it in a safe place) after making the image and before restoring to the new drive.
