Boot Backup vs Windows Backup

Lately I have been backing up computer disk and partitions within the Windows 7 environment.
Looking over Grover's guide on TI2013 - during boot using the CD for disk and partition backup I can arrange the order by 'number, start, partition, flags, capacity, used space, free space, type. However when
I do a disk and partition backup inside Windows 7 that options are not available. I must assume that by 'number, start....' is factored into the full backup.
The backup scheme is custom/ full. And then I store away the USB backup - in case of.
