Bootable Acronis 10 CD does not find SATA-HDD (Error: 000101F4).

Hello Yana,
I am sorry that I did trouble you with my problem, but when I tried again today in order to exactly describe the moment when the problem with the mouse occured, the bootable CD worked exactly as it should, including the mouse. I can only imagine that I had a momentary contact problem with the mouse plug.
Thank you again very much for your help.
Kind regards and a very happy christmas for you

Do not forget to register your product at our website, so we can check its license to send a correct ISO file to you.
Tony and Eugeny, I have sent you the ISO file for Acronis True Image 11 Home (according to registered products under your accounts), please let me know whether it helps to resolve the issue.
Also, please do not hesitate to ask any questions concerning Acronis, I would be glad to assist you.
Thank you.
Alexander- Tried the disc and yes, it works with v11, finally.
Why don't you just post the link on the website? With all the angst and trouble that this problem causes your heretofore loyal userbase surely the powers that be in your company must have got the message by now?
I wonder how much business and goodwill have been sacrificed by your bean counters in their quest to make life difficult for their customers. I have transferred my loyalty over to Paragon, as have many others. I will not be purchasing any more Acronis products. It is a real shame, as I love your products and have heartily recommended them to my clients up until this fiasco, I shall no longer be doing so.
Your product is designed to do one thing and one thing only, rescue a broken system. If your customers cannot do that - on whatever hardware they may choose - even 2 or 3 years down the track from the backup, then everybody has wasted their investment, not just in the purchase of the product, but the time and effort involved in producing the useless images and backups.
This is the reason everybody is so upset and cheesed off with your attitude. I say again, unless you improve your customer service and dismiss the bean-counter elements I very much doubt Acronis will still be trading a few years from now.
Tony Brown.

I'm running Windows 7. I want to change the partitions on my single SATA hard drive. Since DD10 does not work with Windows 7, I tried creating bootable media. It does not see my SATA hard drive but does see my USB backup drive. I downloaded the ISO file from my account and it has the same problem. In addition, when I move my mouse, it only moves up and down. I am unable to move it left to right. I'm using a wireless USB mouse.

I use Acronis True Image 10 Home and have the same problems with the SATA drives. On booting with the bootable CD screen changed to black and nothing more happens. Under Windows XP SP2 everything works perfect.

I'm also interested in getting the ISO file for TI 11 Home. I have build 8101 and a relatively new Compaq laptop (CQ60-224NR).
I can boot the TI-11-created bootable media, but full mode sees only the external USB drive I plan to create the image on, and safe mode (from the plugin) sees only the internal SATA drive. I've gone through a bunch of blank CDs creating boot media and would like to create one that will finally solve this issue. I've also PMed Dmitry about this. Please send me a link and/or get it made available through the website.
Thanks!
EDIT: of great concern to me, I tried to ask the Live Chat support for a link to the TI 11 Home bootable media ISO with the additional drivers. I got a complete stonewall - all the chat rep could say was that my product was "obsolete" and the ISO I needed was "not in [their] resources."
I sincerely hope this is not true. This definitely leans me towards the camp of folks who finds Acronis support frustrating (I'm trying to be nice). I've sent PM requests off to a few forum admins who I have seen providing the link in the recent past - hopefully I can still have a good outcome, though I am far from sanguine after my experience.

You have addressed your queery to the wrong person; I am only a user and have also tried to get help with this problem, and I received a helpful answer.
I would sugest that you contact Ms. Yana Savchenko, Acronis Moderator, and ask your questions there.

A very helpful admin (Oleg) got me the ISO I needed for TI 11 (8101). It worked perfectly, despite the insistences of the chat support guy I talked to who claimed that they had no such thing in their resources.
Thanks to Oleg and to the forum admins for being so helpful!
And to those who might need this image: don't bother asking for it in the support chat, at least as of January 2010. You'll get stonewalled. (Hope to hear that this has changed soon!)

Hello all,
Thank you for posting your comments, I will be happy to help.
I would like to express our appreciation to all forum members who provided us with the feedback regarding the program functionality and customer service department.
Tony,
We do not publish the permanent links for (n-2) or earlier versions because only licensed customers should have the access to the appropriate file. We always check the account information prior providing with the ISO file, the license should be registered. If you are an owner of the current or (n-1) version, the file is available after logging in to your account.
We are aware of the problems with Live chat service, we are doing our best to improve the situation. We spend a lot of time to train our staff, and we expect visible results very soon.
Earl,
The issue needs a closer investigation. Please send a Private message to any Acronis moderator, we will take care of your request.
I would like to share the steps you can perform to troubleshoot the issues with Acronis Bootable Media.
1) Please make sure that you are using the latest build of the program. You can find out the build number by selecting "Help" option, "About". If you use Acronis True Image Home 2009 or Acronis True Image Home 2010, you can check it navigating mouse cursor to upper line of the program then press ALT + left mouse button -> Help -> About.
The list of the latest builds is available here. You can learn more on how to download the latest build here.
Install the latest build, recreate Acronis Bootable Media and see if the issue remains.
2) If this doesn't help, please try the "acpi=off noapic" parameter.
- Acronis Bootable Media that you can generate in your Acronis product. This type of media is based on Acronis Loader;
- Acronis Bootable Media that you can download from your account on the Acronis website. This type of media is based on ISOLINUX.
1. Boots into Acronis True Image directly without any additional parameters. This is the default parameter that boots in 10 seconds.
2. Boots into the # prompt without any additional parameters. Generally required when you need to either boot into the # prompt or collect Acronis Linux Report with special conditions. Can be ignored without additional request from Acronis support.
3. Boots into Acronis True Image program directly with the acpi=off noapic parameters. It can be useful on some hardware when Acronis True Image Bootable Rescue Media hangs during boot process.
4. Boots into the # prompt with the acpi=off noapic parameters. Usually it is required for gathering some diagnostic information.
5. Boots into Acronis True Image directly with USB, fireware and Yenta CardBus controller disabled. Can be useful on some hardware.
6. Boots into the # prompt with USB, fireware and Yenta CardBus controller disabled. Usually it is required for gathering some diagnostic information. Can be ignored without additional request from Acronis support.
7. Boots into Acronis True Image directly with vesa disabled. It can be used when a customer experience some issues with graphics or sees a black screen after booting without 'quiet'..
8. Boots into the # prompt with vesa disabled. Can be ignored without additional request from Acronis support.
0. FOR ABR ONLY: allows you to collect sysinfo output to USB flash.
You can find the information on how to download the appropriate ISOLINUX file in this article. Please see this article on how to burn an ISO file to a CD disk.
If you would like to purchase the upgrade to Acronis True Image Home 2010, please visit the Acronis online store.
Please do not hesitate to ask additional questions if the provided information is not clear or you need a further assistance.
Thank you.

Hi there!
I'm using Acronis TI 10 b4942. Now, I changed to new notebook HP EliteBook 6930p including a SATA drive using the AHCI controller.
Unfortunatelly, my Acronis Bootable Rescue Media reports the error code E000101F4 and it does not detect the hard drive.
This error depends on the AHCI mode, but I have to stick to this mode.
Can you please help?
Thanks a lot in advance and best regards,

Can you send me the iso for sata recognition for TI Home 11? Thanks, Bob Fischer
- Accedi per poter commentare

I have the same trouble (Acronis TI 2010 Plus Pack). My PC has five storage devices connected:
2 x SATA-I disk
2 x SATA-II disk
1 x SATA-I DVD drive
If I download the ISO file from my account and burn to disc (build: #6053), I only get as far as the Acronis logo and 8 options and no matter what I select the drives aren't found.
I will try the tip of creating a disc from the software and selecting SATA=RAID disks (even though they're not) and see if that works.

Hi, I have an urgent need. I'm testing Acronis True Image, possibly switching over entirely to Acronis from Ghost imaging, but I'm having the same issue as everyone else. I can't get Acronis to recognize any of the SATA drives I have installed, regardless of switches used. I'm using a trial version of Acronis Tru Image Home 11. I have one image created that works beautifully, and the bootdisk I have created worked on one machine but on all of my other machines, it won't recognize the SATA hdd. I really need to get this to work, I'm trying to get a few workstations done for my group project. I plan to recommend migrating over to Acronis imaging completely but I need this to work to prove Acronis is the product for us. Can you please send me the ISO file? To test with?

Hello all!
First of all thank you for finding time to report about the issue, we really appreciate that. Right now I will forward new Acronis Bootable Rescue Media to each of you via PM and would be glad if you could kindly test it.
Dear Matthias! Unfortunately you didn't specify the full name of the product you have faced this issue with, and from your account I can see only Acronis True Image Home 11 available. So I will forward you the bootable media of Acronis True Image Home 11. Should you have any other version - please let me know with specifying the license key: I will register it to your account in order to avoid future inconveniences and provide you with respective *iso.
Markus, thank you for the detailed description. Actually AHCI mode should not be the issue, so please test the suggestion I sent you - it should fix the problem - and let me know the results, so that I could provide you with further assistance if needed.
Chris, I regret to hear you faced this issue with the latest version of our software and downloaded account *.iso didn't help you. I have just received the latest version of the bootable media (build specially for such cases) from the Expert's team. Please test it, and in case of any issues, please gather the information requested and attach as a reply to my PM - this info will allow us to build new Acronis Bootable Rescue Media, which will suit your particular environment.
Raquel, the latest version of the Acronis True Image Home software is Acronis True Image Home 2010. So I would advise you to use this testing media (already forwarded to you). I have also included the demo version of Acronis True Image Home 11 - should you like it most, we will be able to downgrade your future purchase to that version, if needed.
I would appreciate if you could kindly let me know the results and keep us updated regarding the case. Do not hesitate to contact any of Forum Moderators via PM for obtaining new *.ISO or sharing your concerns as well as post the comment here - we are continuously tracking this thread, so you won't be left without assistance. We would also appreciate if you could share your concerns and questions with us!
Thank you!

Hello,
I tried both ISO's and neither one gives me the option to create a boot disk. I only have options to backup or recover. I have an Acronis Image file that I want to image on a machine that has a SATA drive and the Acronis boot disk I have won't recognize the SATA drive. So I would need to be able to create a boot disk to be able to use this image file.
The computers we are using the image for are Lenovo M58 (7359-b5u).
Anything I can do to get a Acronis boot disk working to recognize the SATA drives. Were testing the Acronis Standalone utility to image these workstations. We've had success with one Acronis boot disk on one workstation (same model) but on all of other workstations (all same model) the Acronis boot disk won't recognize the SATA drives. When I launch the Acronis Standalone utility, I don't see the c:\ drive no hard drives, only the USB drive that houses the Acronis image file.

Hi,
I had the problem with my ATIH10 and after communicating with Alexander I was advised to purchase ATHI 2010 and hopefully all would be well.
I have now purchased Acronis Image Home 2010 but I get exactly the same problem with my desktop. Some times when booting from the disk it will load up to the Acronis screen and then the computer will freeze and I have to power it off, other times it will just boot into a blank black screen.
My disk works fine on my laptop but has the above problems with my desktop. Both machines have Sata drives. My desktop is an Acer Veriton M464 if that helps.
I have looked in the download area but I cannot see an iso file. Can someone please point me in the right direction to overcome this problem.

Hello all!

Raquel, I'm very sorry for the inconvenience caused - I got confused by your "trial version of Acronis True Image Home 11" while you needed Acronis Snap Deploy 3 bootable media. Already sent it to you via PM and would appreciate if you could kindly keep me posted!
Peter, thank you for your patience comment. Actually Acronis Bootable Rescue Media is not shown in the account as ISO file. You can find it here
Chris, thank you for your comment! I have checked your account and found out that the issue was in the disabling Private Messages functionality. I just got it fixed, so would appreciate if you could send me your concerns and Acronis Linux Report directly! This information will show us the exact reason why the bootable CD doesn't boot correctly and help us to build one that will suit your particular environment.
Please let us know in case you have any additional concerns, questions or faced any difficulties with obtaining diagnostic information - we will definitely help you.
Thank you!

Good Morning Alexander,
I have been a True Image user, a spectacular product, for years. A few months ago I bought a new system with SATA drives, made a back-up and eventually erased my then troubled C: drive thinking "no problem".
Since NO operating WinXP exists now, I can only hope to use the boot disk and my back-up media. Of course the boot disk recognizes no SATA drives. So please send me the ISO for the Home 11 version with SATA support so I can restore my C: drive.
I have just registered my latest 2 purchases of V.11 (I also bought V.10 but cannot find it, and V.8 which I do have).
Thank you so much! Ron Frankel

Hello Ron and Chris!
Thank you for your comments once again!
Ron, I completely understand your concern and be sure will be glad to help you. Thank you for registering the products on our website - it simplifies the process of support greatly. Unfortunately I cannot find 2010 version as well, maybe you could specify me via PM the e-mail address you purchased it to? Meanwhile I have already sent you the newer version of the Acronis Bootable Rescue Media and would appreciate if you could kindly test it to see whether the issue went away. Should you face any difficulties of problems - let us know immediately, we will definitely assist you!
Chris, thank you for cooperation, I got it and already replied! Please check your e-mail and private messages and let me know if you didn't get it - I'll resend.
It is most likely that the issue you have faced was caused by the loader failure to start ramdisk.dat module. I have already created a ticket for you and sent you the media built on another loader - it should help, but anyway I would highly appreciate if you could keep us updated and contacted immediately if you encounter any problem.
Thank you once again for your cooperation and patience, we really appreciate that, and be sure we'll do our best to resolve the issues in the shortest timeframes.
Thank you!

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction Yana
I expiriancing the same issue described here, i have used the iso from my account as of yesterday and i'm still unable to resolve my issue,
I was able to workaround this for now, I found that if I use my previous version rescue cd from release 10 I am able to boot directly from rescue media and restore my older backups that were created with v10
I was also able to downgrade my home 11 back to home 10 and deploy a backup from within a running win XP Including reboot, image deployed and reboot back to OS,
I am unable to perform none of the above with home v11
I can load the rescue cd and have the software running But once it is running It cannot recognize my drives and will not allow me to restore without present drives This is true for both scenarios, when booting from rescue cd or when deploying restore from within OS
End of rant.
And I do appreciate you getting back with me on this matter As I am frustrated as one can be right now
Best regards

To be honest, it is a bit weird that Bootable Media of Acronis True Image Home 11 doesn't to work in the environment where Acronis True Image Home 10 does. I assume there is an issue with the Loader, but it is difficult to say for sure without the reports from the media and the machine itself. Won't you mind to send me the following?
- Acronis Linux Report from the media that doesn't detect the drives
- Windows System Information file from the machine in question (if possible)
- Acronis Info from the machine in question (if possible)
This info will help us to identify the case and build a new media for you.

Dear Alan and Techie!
I'm glad to inform you that you can download the updated bootable media right from your accounts! Please burn it onto the CD and check whether the issue persists.
Please note that Acronis True Image Home 10 and 11 are outdated products and they are not developed, updated and supported anymore. Thus we cannot guarantee that they support modern hardware. They doesn't support Windows 7 as well.

Hi Yana,
Thanks for the reply. I've already tried that before but it still doesn't work.
I've even tried installing the SnapAPI from here ---> http://kb.acronis.com/sites/default/files/content/2005/12/1515/SnapAPIS…
Although it manage to detect the harddisk (within Windows environment), it is still unable to restore from my backup disk. It merely prompt me to reboot after I've loaded my copy 2 of 2. After that, it doesn't prompt me to load copy 1 of 2 to complete the recovery.
After installing the SnapAPI, I re-created a Bootable Media & boot from it but it still failed to detect my harddisk.
I'm using WinXP w/SP3

Hi Anton,
I edit the .iso file with MagicISO. I mount the .iso file and then add the .tib file into the iso. It's always worked in the past. I'm not sure what the possible differences are in this iso and previous ones.
The KB article you reference really won't work for me. I use an acronis bootable to create an image that that is used for mass replication. I can't really install Acronis on the system I am creating a .tib for because acronis would be on the 1000+ systems we distribute.
Thanks again!

Seems from what I have read I am the only one having this particular problem, which is, when I boot from the Acronis CD to perform a backup (computer is Dell XPS 15, purchased 7/2011), I can see my internal SATA drives just fine, however it can not see my external USB drive, regardless of what USP port I plug it into? If I load Acronis from within the OS (Win 7 Pro 32 bit) it works flawlessly, can see all drives and can backup "My Computer" to the USB drive. Any ideas why Acronis can't see the USB on my Dell laptop? As a side note, I have been using Acronis for 4 years and think it's just about the best utility for backing up data and making images for the money. I've used that "Spooky" named backup software and find Acronis to be considerably more user friendly and faster. I have used Acronis on several other Dell laptops, mostly Latitude series (E6400, E5500, E5510) and never had this issue. Do you think it is something with the laptop or the software...or maybe the USB drive (Fantom "Green Drive" 2 TB)? Love your product, keep up the good work.

Hello Bill,
Welcome to the forum and thank you for posting.
The reason the bootable media does not detect your external hard drive is because it does not have the proper drivers for it. There are several things that can be done in such situations:
1. I am not sure which version of Acronis software you are using and build but you can always download the latest trial version of our software here.
2. Create WinPe bootable media to which you can add your own drivers.
3. Collect system report and Windows system information file and contact our Support team so that we can include the fix it.
Should you need additional help please let me know.
Thank you.

Thank you for your post and welcome to the forum.
Let me help you with this issue please.
I noticed that you also own Acronis True Image 2012 Home. Does the bootable media from ATIH 2012 detect your SATA device? Acronis True Image 2010 Home is an outdated version, we do not plan any more updates for it. However, we will be happy to assist you to resolve issues with ATIH2012. You can download the bootable media directly from your Acronis web-account if you have not installed the program yet.
Looking forward to your reply and if you have additional questions please let me know.
Thank you.

I am having a similar problem with Acronis True Image Home Version 10.0 (build 4,871). As of a couple days ago the program wont recognize my internal hard drive, but will recognize the hard drive I want to clone via USB to SATA cable.
I get the message "Unable to continue, you only have one drive. This program is designed to work with two or more drives."
I don't know if I need the file like others in this discussion, or something else. Any help would be appreciated!
