Bootable media

Thread needs solution

Hi,
I have just bought acronis 2014 and I have downloaded it.
I noticed in my account in the acronis site that there is the following link:

Product native bootable media
Build: #6614 Size: 435.63 MB
Date: 2013-10-25 00:00:00

Can you explain what such a bootable media is? Is it necessary that I download it? Is it the rescue CD necessary to reinstall the operative system or is it something else?
Thank you in advance

Yes, this is very important. You can download this bootable ISO and burn it as an ISO to a blank CD. Alternatively, you can create the same CD, or create a USB flash drive version, from the software running in Windows.
When you restore a disk image, you would boot the computer on the CD and recover from there. This allows you to restore the disk where your OS is to the state of the time of the backup.
It is important that you test your recovery CD on your computer. Set the BIOS settings of your computer to boot from the CD or from USB disks, boot on the recovery "CD", try to restore a couple of files from your backup.
If your system disk dies, you will necessarily use the recovery "CD" to restore your backup to new disk(s).

I would prefer to have an USB-Stick created rfom the downloaded bootmediums ISO.

Ik krijg het niet voor elkaar een bootable cd te maken. Hij brand wel een iso maar deze krijg ik niet opgestart. Kan iemand mij helpen zodat hij wel opstart? Windows 8. Toshiba Qosmio.

Pat I wonder if you (or anyone knows) the Bootable ISO for 2014 Premium is the exact same bytes as that for the non-Premium version, and there is no hash data so it seems these might be the same? I would have expected that a non-Premium purchaser would not have access to the Universal Restore feature...
