!!!! BootMGR missing after using Acronis TrueImage Home 2011?

Thread needs solution

OS: Win 7 Prof. 64
Acronis True Image Home 2011
------------------------------------

After cloning of the OS-HDD for a second pc the previous system can't boot anymore,
the BootMGR is missing.

Why did TrueImage the original HDD BootMgr delete? What did TrueImage exactly?

Can the problem be solved by the Win7 install DVD and rebuild the MBR without damage of the partition?

The file may not be missing. Check that the correct partition is set Active. This would be the booting partition or the one that contains bootmgr and the Boot folder with the BCD file. It could be the Windows partition or the System Reserved partition.

It's possible that TI updated the booting files for the clone, which "broke" the existing system.

It should be fixable by doing a boot repair with the Windows 7 DVD. Depending on the problem, it may take up to three times since each fix usually only repairs one thing. Make sure only the one drive is connected so it doesn't get confused.
